European Program for the Exchange of Lecturers (EPEL)
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR 2021 (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31)
DEADLINE: 15 OCTOBER 2020
This is a renewed call for applications for the EPEL program in 2021 with an extended deadline. For details about the program and the general conditions for application, please refer to the earlier call that was posted on this website on July 23 (http://94.136.40.103/~koreanstudies.eu/?p=1269).
The CoViD19 pandemic may continue to hamper academic travel and meeting in lecture rooms for at least part of the coming year. The Korea Foundation has therefore kindly agreed to provide financial support for lectures conducted online as replacement for offline lectures.
On condition that the online lecture is made available to the Korean Studies public as online video, following preparation fees can be handed out:
– up to € 300 for the lecturer, for providing the lecture as well as additional materials (reading list, presentation files etc.) as asked for by the hosting institute
– up to € 150 for the hosting institution for preparing the public version of the online lecture and providing the cyber space for making the lecture available.
It is expected that the publicly available lecture videos are edited to the degree necessary for enabling a good learning experience, do as a rule not exceed 45 minutes in length, and are accompanied by additional study materials such as reading suggestions.
Applications can be prepared assuming that lectures will be conducted offline. Replacing offline with online lectures will be possible without prior notice as long as the pandemic persists, and as long as above conditions are met. It is also possible to directly apply for online lectures. However, if online lectures are replaced by offline lectures, reimbursement of travel expenses can be granted only up to € 450 per lecture.
Please send your proposal to the AKSE President by 15 October 2020.
