The Faculty of Arts at the University of Bonn, Germany, invites applications for a non-tenured position:
W1 Juniorprofessorship in Korean Studies
Applicants should be able to represent the subject in research and teaching. A research focus in the history or culture of Korea, visibility in international Korea research and experience in cooperation with related East Asian disciplines, especially Japanese studies, are required. The future position holder will be responsible for teaching in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs at the Institute of Oriental and Asian Studies of the University of Bonn.
The conditions of employment are according to § 36 Hochschulgesetz NRW.
In addition to a relevant university degree, proof of special scientific aptitude is expected, which is generally proven by the outstanding quality of the doctoral dissertation. Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding, in the planning and implementation of transcultural projects and in teaching is desired.
The initial contract runs for three years with the possibility of renewal for another three years.
