Applications are invited for a three-year postdoctoral position as part of the European Research Council funded project, Aftermath of the East Asian War of 1592-1598, https://aftermath.uab.cat, at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The successful candidate will work on the aftermath of Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s Invasions of Korea/the Imjin War as it relates to Japan, from the perspective of one or more of the Aftermath project’s three themes: environment, technology, and society.  The working language of the project is English.
We offer a full time research position for up to three years in an innovative research project funded within the prestigious European Research Council framework and hosted by one of the top universities in Spain. The candidate will have access to a stimulating environment as part of an established team of scholars, as well as a generous research allowance for fieldwork, the purchase of books, and conference travel. The position is regulated by a post-doctoral employment contract for research staff at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, salary range €21,180-€34,180 (the upper limit of this salary range is negotiable, depending on experience and skill set of the candidate). Additionally, the employment package includes public healthcare and pension contributions.
