Applications are assessed three times a year.

The deadlines are end of February, end of June, and end of October.

The travel for which the grant is demanded should take place no later than one year from the point of application.

Upcoming deadline: 30 June 2024.

Priority will be given to longstanding AKSE members and projects that engage with Korean language materials and scholarship.

Grant recipients will be guided individually through the grant awarding process.

The travel grants are limited to a maximum of 2000 EUR per application. Smaller sums and co-financed projects have a better prospect of acceptance. Supported items include air fare (economy class only), ground transportation and accommodation.

The travel grants cannot be used for participation in the AKSE conference, nor for conferences organized or supported by Korean governmental organizations/agencies including the AKS and King Sejong Institute. For AKSE conference travel subsidies, please check the AKSE conference webpage.

*Grant recipients can have multiple funding sources for the same trip as long as double funding of identical items is avoided and the travel is not already supported by a Korean government agency.

For reimbursement of awarded Travel Grants please complete this form Travel grant expenses form and email the form to the AKSE Treasurer and

Submission of the expenses form and all receipts for reimbursement must happen within one month after completion of the travel.
