KF-NIAS Korea Fellow: Postdoctoral Position in Korean Studies in Copenhagen – Deadline for applications 15th May 2021

The Nordic Institute of Asian Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen (UCPH), invites candidates for a postdoctoral position in Korean Studies from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022. Core funding for the fellowship has been generously provided by the Korea Foundation. Candidates should propose a research topic concerning the domestic, comparative or international politics of the Republic of Korea, broadly defined.

Topics of particular interest might include electoral politics, the politics of mass communication or social media, political protests, generational conflict, gender issues, climate change, sustainability, the geopolitics of the Korean peninsula, security and nuclear proliferation, and the role of APEC and other regional organizations.

Funding will be available for conference travel and to support the publication of a book resulting from the fellowship.

The position is for 12 months.
